Summer School 2011
Summer School 2011 was the second summer school to be held at the studio and was a great success. This year there was an extra class and over 50 dancers took part.
Everybody had a fantastic week, worked very hard, had lots of fun and improved immensely. At the end of the intense week friends and family were invited to come and see what the dancers had learnt and watch them receive their certificates. They all gave a fabulous performance and the audience couldn’t believe how much the groups had learnt in just one week.
Congratulations to Freya, Chelsea and Molly who received Funkstar badges and well done to Patrick for receiving Funkstar of the week! These dancers are pictured below.

End of Term
This term has been very busy and lots of fun! Everyone has been working extremely hard. Each week of term one person in Funkstar is announced ‘Funkstar of the Week’ and receives a certificate. Pictured below are this terms chosen dancers: Erin, Amy, Leah, Hollie, Freya, Cody, Grace, Tom, Maddie, Zoe, Emily and Shannon. Following this at the end of every term chosen dancers are rewarded with an extra special Funkstar badge. The lucky badge winners also pictured below are Grace, Ellie, Letia, Ellie, Josh, Chanel, Beth, Lauren, Chloe, Hollie, Erin, Erin, and Lily. It is not necessarily the best dancer who receives ‘Funkstar of the Week’ or the end of term badge but somebody who has worked very hard, had great attendance or shown a massive improvement. Well done to all, keep up the great work!

Face of Funkstar 2011
Funkstar is proud to announce the winner of Face of Funkstar 2011 – Charlotte!
Charlotte is the first ever person to win Face of Funkstar and is a very worthy winner. She is 15 years of age, has attended Funkstar for over 2 years and is a pleasure to teach. Her application and photographs stood out from the start and she grew in confidence and ability during the competition. Charlotte received over 600 votes during the final. Funkstar is very excited to have her as their next top model and are looking forward to the year ahead!

End of Term
This term has been very eventful and exciting. During the last week of term Donna awarded 13 dancers with special Funkstar badges for showing determination, hard work and dedication.
The lucky badge winners pictured below are Megan, Cody, Shannon, Grace, Ashleigh, Kris, Chloe, Abbie, David, Grace, Chloe, Kayleigh and Millie. Well done everyone, keep up the good work!

Funkstar Team invited to BGT!
In October 2010 Donna received a phone call from Britain’s Got Talent asking if Funkstar would like to attend their very first Liverpool audition. BGT had been on the website and loved Funkstar’s image, energy and talent, they wanted extra acts to make the show look exciting and professional. On the audition day Funkstar were treated as special guests and were given many oppotunities in front of the cameras and judges. Below are some shots of the program which aired in April 2011. Many Funkstar dancers and parents text, phoned and emailed Donna to say that they had seen the team on the TV, everyone was made up and very proud!
‘Do it Like a Dude’ gets record views in only 7 days
After only 7 days, Funkstar’s latest production ‘Do it Like a Dude’ has achieved a record amount of views on YouTube, receiving over 1600 views.
This achievement is a credit to the dancers involved in the video as well as all Funkstarians for promoting and sharing it.

Funkstar come 3rd in Liverpool Performing Arts Festival 2011
The Funkstar Team sucessfully placed 3rd in the aged 16-21 category at this years Liverpool Performing Arts Festival.
The team saw off stiff competition from a large group of professional and private dance colleges and schools from the area. The competition was very close and the team aged from 8 upwards had a great time!

End of Year!
July 24th was the last day of Funkstar’s 2nd succesful year! What a great year it has been.
The studio is now closed for the summer until Monday 6th September, except for our exciting Summer School 2nd-6th August.

Studio: Now Open!
After a snowy first week the second week was alive and kicking, class after class were excited to be at the new premises and everyone worked extremely hard.
This week Funkstar Senior Team turned in to rock chicks, the Adults Class started with a bang and the Beginner Seniors realised that having 50 people in the studio is a little sweaty!
The atmosphere at the studio is amazing.
