Each week one person in Funkstar is announced ‘Funkstar of the Week’ and receives a certificate. At the end of every term one person in each class is rewarded with an extra special Funkstar badge. It is not necessarily the best dancer who receives these but somebody who has worked very hard, had great attendance or shown a massive improvement.

Further to this, the very important and respected ’Funkstar Dance Award’ is given once a year at the annual Showcase. This award is given to an individual who has made a massive impact on Funkstar for whatever reason.

2011 – Zoe Austin

Zoe Austin received the Funkstar Award at Showcase 03 for being very dedicated and committed. Not only is she extremely talented but is an absolute pleasure to teach! Zoe really stood out during 2011 and made our Do it like a Dude and Run the World videos even more impressive! Well done Zo.

2010 – Megan Hughes

Megan Hughes received the Funkstar Dance Award at Showcase 02 for improving in confidence, learning so much and for always giving a fantastic performance. She is a true Funkstar through and through and is a massive help at the studio. Donna is extremely proud of her.

Well done!

2009 – Cara Wilson

Cara Wilson received the first ever Funkstar Dance Award in 2009 for working hard, being consistent and very reliable. She is a fab performer, her energy on stage makes her stand out. Showcase 01 wouldn’t have been the same without her.

Cara is a pleasure to teach, although she has far too much fun laughing at Donna’s expense!
